Tropicana is Australia's newest gold mine development and is based on the country's largest gold discovery in the past decade.

The Tropicana Gold Project was approved for development in late 2010 and construction began in April 2011. Appointment of construction and operational management positions is underway and recruitment for mining, administrative and operator roles will be carried out in 2012 and 2013.

Tropicana will be a fly in-fly out operation from Kalgoorlie and Perth. The Tropicana Joint Venture will promote employment opportunities for local people.

The EPCM Contract has been awarded to Lycopodium Minerals Pty Ltd, which will be coordinating the tendering and award of construction work packages.
